Embrace the colour! This is the phrase that is trending in our office right now. To understand where this originated we will have to whisk you away to India, the location of our latest style voyage:

Two or three times per year, we decide to head off into the unknown and search for new styles and designs to add to our catalogue. To choose our destination, we follow our style voyage rule: Go somewhere completely new and on the other side of the globe. For this trip we therefore decided to visit the bazaars and showrooms of Rajasthan, the magically techni-coloured desert region in the North West of India. We had heard that Rajasthan was a style hunter’s paradise but arrived feeling quite apprehensive, due to the reports of searing 40C temperatures. These apprehensions were soon blown away though by the sensory overload of smells, sounds and sights. We found Rajasthan to be furnace of colour, with ancient cities painted in pink and blue, and women floating around the town in sari’s of every imaginable colour. We found these vivacious colours against the landscape of swirling desert sands absolutely inspiring and have harnessed the inspiration with our latest designs:

Sam chairs

Inspired by the colours of Rajasthan we decided to create a set of chairs that would energise the space around them. The result is our Sam chairs.

Mutine Chair

Inspired by the resourcefulness of the Rajasthani people, in creating useful objects from limited resources, we created the Mutine natural rattan outdoor chair.

Olga Table

We didn’t just take the inspiration for our design ideas from India. We literally took a piece of the country with us – the Olga sheesham dining table. We found that even the wood is colourful in Rajasthan and have designed this richly grained sheesham table made from high quality, native Rajasthani wood. More importantly still, like our commercially minded forebears, we have travelled across the world from Europe to Asia and opened a new trade route with the people of Rajasthan. We hope that this new relationship will open more opportunities for design in the future.
