This discussion is based around our key design principles that we are committed to when developing new furniture.

Natural materials

We are an environmentally friendly company who are committed to developing furniture sustainably. We are therefore not fans of MDF, plywood or flat pack furniture, which use harmful resins and glues in the development of the composite engineered wood materials. Instead we source natural woods for our furniture from trees that have reached full maturity. The perfect time to harvest the wood from a tree is just before they die. This is because trees are full of carbon dioxide and when they rot, they vent the carbon dioxide into the atmosphere as they break down. We avoid this harmful process by using the trees wood when the carbon dioxide is still trapped inside it.

Another benefit of using natural materials is their quality. MDF furniture will often need replacing after only a few years of use, while natural, solid woods can last lifetimes. We want to develop furniture that can be cherished and passed on to the next generation. This, in turn, makes for a more sustainable furniture buying cycle.

We don’t want to be just another furniture vendor. Instead we aim to develop a catalogue that is going to turn heads and inspire you to furnish your home more creatively. You will notice that we have lots of furniture that is inspired by the Far East. We love Asian style and think that it is the perfect cure for a drab and dreary interior. This is because it is full of sensory richness.
